SCAT places 4th at Sr. ChampionshipsThe Southern Crescent Aquatic Team senior swimmers generated some powerful swims at the Georgia Senior State Championships which were held Dec. 10 - 12 in Atlanta. SCAT clearly made an impact on the Georgia swimming scene by finishing in fourth place among 30 teams from around the state. According to Head Coach Jamey Myers, It was truly a team effort and was a terrific meet for our team in many respects. We had 68% best times for all our swims which is by far the best percentage at the meet of any team in the top 6. Lauren Cartwright was the high point woman swimmer for the meet. She was awarded the Outstanding Woman Swimmer award for the state. She is SCATs first Outstanding Swimmer award winner. In addition to scoring more points at the meet than any other female swimmer, Cartwright also set 5 new team records in the 100 Breast, 200 Fly, and the 100, 200, and 500 Free. Other SCAT swimmers who placed in finals and scored points for the team were Nicole Roddenbery, Mackenzie Garrott, Chris Lee, Noah Copeland, David Menchinger, Zach Payne, Vincent Tortora, and Ryan Mallam. Nicole Roddenbery set new team records in the 50 Back and the 50 Free. The relay team of Vincent Tortora, Thomas Lucak, Chris Lee, and Noah Copeland set new team records in the 400 and 800 Free.
