Providence UMC announces three Christmas Eve servicesProvidence United Methodist Church will have three Christmas Eve services, one at 5 p.m., another at 7 p.m. and a third at 11 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 24. The family service at 5 p.m. will include a spontaneous Christmas pageant. All children in attendance will be able to participate in the manger scene as sheep, donkeys, cows, wise men, angels or shepherds. Costumes are encouraged and should be homemade. Barbee Vosecky, childrens music director at Providence says, Having your children participate in the Nativity will help them to see the true meaning of Christmas. The 7 and 11 p.m. traditional worship services will be Carols, Communion and Candlelight. Each will include favorite Christmas hymns, with music provided by the choir or soloists, ending with communion and the lighting of candles. The 11 p.m. service will conclude with the ringing of the bells at midnight to welcome the Christ child. A nursery will be provided for all services. Providence is at 592 Bernhard Rd., Fayetteville, between Ga. Hwy. 85 and Redwine Road. For information, call the church, 770-719-8800. |
