Thats the message Waffle House officials sent Tyrone this week, according to Town Manager Barry Amos.
Its my understanding that they have decided not to locate in Tyrone, he said.
The restaurant would have been located across the street from Publix on Ga. Highway 74.
Restaurant officials were rebuffed at last weeks council meeting after they had agreed to design the restaurant to look like one in Ft. Collins, Colo.
But in exchange for the redesign of the restaurant, Waffle House wanted a monument sign featuring 40 feet of signage on Hwy. 74, which proved to be the sticking point.
That type of sign is only allowed near their entrance, which would not be on Hwy. 74, Amos said.
So, when the Town Council denied their sign request, Waffle House officials asked the council to approve their original design. That design met with a thumbs-down from the council and forced the restaurants development experts to rethink their options.
The land is already zoned Planned Unit Density, so officials could have sued the town over denying their site plan.
But in the end, they decided to end their plans for an outlet in Tyrone.
