A juvenile accused in damaging or lifting dozens of mailboxes in Peachtree City last summer has been nabbed by the Peachtree City police.
On Dec. 7, the juvenile was charged with 27 counts of criminal trespassing for his alleged involvement in the destruction or theft of mailboxes.
According to police, an untold number of residents awoke in the areas of Raintree Bend, Sawmill Trace and Clydesdale Road, to find their mailbox had vanished or had been damaged on Aug. 4.
An investigation into the melee ensued.
"The actual number of reported incidents was much greater, as some victims did not desire to file formal charges," Peachtree City Police Chief James Murray said in a prepared statement. "The case is still open for investigation. Additional arrests and charges are expected to be made in the near future."
Anyone with information about the case should call the Peachtree City Criminal Investigations Division at 770-631-2510. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
