National Heights sets banquet, concert, cantataMembers of National Heights Baptist Church will have their annual Christmas banquet and an organ concert by Hugh Waddy Wednesday, Dec. 15. The banquet begins at 6 p.m. with the concert scheduled to follow at 7 p.m. The Christmas Cantata, The Promise of the King, will be Sunday, Dec. 19, at the 10:55 a.m. service. A Christmas Carol reading set for Dec. 17The St. Luke Players of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in McDonough will present a dramatic reading (in costume with minimal props) by a cast of ten of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, Friday Dec. 17 and Saturday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. Champagne, punch and sweets will be served following the performance. Trip to governors mansion plannedThe S.A.G.E. group (senior citizens) at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will travel to the Governors Mansion Friday, Dec. 17, leaving the church parking lot at 8:30 a.m. The tour is at 10 a.m. and the group will eat lunch at the Colonnade afterwards. Sams group heads for Stone Mountain Dec. 20The Sams group (senior citizens) at Fayetteville Christian Church will travel to Stone Mountain Monday, Dec. 20, to have dinner and view the laser show. The group will leave the church at 3 p.m. and will return after the laser show. The cost of $12 per person includes admission to the park and transportation.
