Passons concert is tonight at McDonough Road BaptistMcDonough Road Baptist Church in Fayetteville will present Michael Passons in concert tonight, Dec. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Passons began his solo career in 2004 after his eight years with Avalon brought seven recordings, four Dove Awards, two Grammy nods and a 2003 American Music Award for Favorite Inspirational Artist. The Yazoo, Miss., native completed a degree in classical piano at Mississippi College, then moved to Nashville, where Grant Cunningham, a Sparrow A&R director, caught his performance at a Nashville showcase. This pivotal meeting led to Passons becoming a founding member of Avalon, which made its debut in 1995. Passons states that his vision for this new chapter in his ministry is to write and sing songs from my heart that will connect with those that listen. As I share what God has done in my life, perhaps others will find encouragement in their Christian life. Mark Karki, minister of music and worship at McDonough Road, said, We are delighted to host this talented artist. We want to invite everyone to come celebrate Christmas with us and join us for a night of worship as Michael leads us. The concert is free and open to the public. McDonough Road Baptist Church is at 352 McDonough Road, just past the drivers license office. Call 770-460-5423 for more information. |
