PTC Web site recognizes holiday lights, militaryThe city of Peachtree City has added two new features to its Web Site, www.peachtree-city.org. The first, just in time for the holidays, allows area residents to list their outdoor holiday light displays as part of a community tour. A complete listing of the addresses submitted will be available on the site beginning today, and remain on the site through Dec. 26. We are hoping this will help people who want to take a holiday tour with their families know what special displays are out there, said city spokesperson Betsy Tyler. Its also a nice way to recognize those residents who have really outdone themselves with their decorating. The second feature will be longer-lived, spotlighting Peachtree City family-members currently serving in the military. Residents can enter the name of a family member currently on active duty in the United States Armed Services, and the individual names will be displayed on the site for a six-month period. Tyler said both features were suggestions from Peachtree City residents, and the City felt the ideas were important enough to add to the current web site, rather than wait until the site is completely redesigned next spring. Both features are linked from the citys main page, under Holiday Happenings and Peachtree City Supports our Troops. |
