There is something for everyone at Scoops American Grille & Creamery, whether you love authentic Chicago-style hotdogs, all-American burgers, or just want to satisfy your sweet tooth with some homemade ice cream and fudge. With an extensive menu highlighting the best from around the country, Scoops is sure to please just about everyone.
The restaurant, opened in May of this year, is located in Fayetteville between Barnes and Noble and Linens and Things. Lynn and Sherrie Bradley started Scoops from a longtime dream to create a cafe with great food and fun atmosphere.
"Scoops offers a place where you can enjoy cuisine from the best cities across America," Sherrie said of the restaurant. "We wanted to put all the wonderful foods we have encountered from our travels around the United States."
The menu reflects this all-American ideal. The hotdog specialties include a Chicago-style dog, topped with mustard, relish, onions, sport peppers, pickles, sliced tomatoes, all for only $5.49. There is also a Coney Island dog, Manhattan dog, and Atlanta dog, dressed the Southern way. These dogs make up a popular portion of the menu, and are served with a choice of seasoned or curly fries and a side of either barbecue beans or coleslaw.
"We have a couple that dine with us weekly. He is from Chicago and loves that he can get an authentic Chicago-style hotdog and a beer," Sherrie said.
Seafood lovers will also find plenty to satisfy their appetites. The Atlantic Seafood Platter includes a lightly seasoned broiled Tilapia filet with Cajun shrimp and fried oysters. It also comes with fries and either a house salad or coleslaw, making this quite a meal for only $9.99.
Another unique seafood offering is the Shrimp Lover's Basket, with serves a combination of spicy Cajun, hot buffalo and sweet coconut shrimp, also with fries and coleslaw or a salad.
For those wanting a more traditional fare, try the Scoops All-American burger. This juicy six-ounce cheeseburger comes topped with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions and mayo, and is joined by your choice of fries and beans or coleslaw, all for $4.99. Other burger options include the Texas Hickory burger, Chili Cheese burger, and Philly Mushroom and Swiss burger, loaded with sauteed mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese.
A recent addition to the menu are the jumbo buffalo wings, served in mild, medium, hot, blazing, barbecue, lemon pepper, Cajun, teriyaki and honey mustard flavors. Enjoy them with a side of Texas toast or onion rings.
Chicken lovers will enjoy the Hawaiian chicken sandwich with pineapple or the California chicken salad sandwich. There is also the grilled chicken salad for those wanting something lighter.
Looking for low-carb? Scoops offers a choice of three different low-carb platters, including beef, grilled chicken and broiled Tilapia, and each platter includes a small cup of low-carb ice cream.
Speaking of ice cream, the restaurant serves a wonderful selection of fudge and ice cream, made fresh right in the kitchen. Fudge comes in a variety of flavors, and is sold by weight. Buy a pound and get half a pound for free, and it makes a great gift idea, according to Sherrie.
"We offer gift boxes you can put your business card on as a great way to promote yourself," she said, adding that the Dessert Nachos is also a popular after dinner treat. It is comprised of crispy cinnamon chips topped with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, caramel fudge, fresh fruit, nuts and whipped cream for just $4.99.
Another delicious treat is the hot fudge brownie sundae, which starts with a warm, chewy brownie and adds vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, nuts, whipped cream and the ever popular cherry on top. Or try one of the fruit smoothies or java milkshakes, starting at $2.99.
Combine all this wonderful food with the fun decor of 70s and 80s-inspired music and memorabilia, you have a wonderful new restaurant to enjoy.
