One day
By Rev. Dr. Knox Herndon In the last century, R.G. Lee was known as one of Americas greatest evangelist and preachers of his time. He preached a famous sermon entitled, Payday someday. Gods Word prophesied that one day a virgin shall conceive, having known no man, and bear a son and His name will be called Jesus for He will save the people from their sins. Just imagine for a moment how revolutionary, and farfetched that sounded when it was said over 2,000 years ago and how farfetched it sounds even today. Each year at this Christmas time our members from The Church Alive in The Double-wide On 85 unashamedly and boldly don homemade shepherd, wise men, Mary and Joseph costumes and go out to our very outback and authentic, rustic and cold manger. There one will see live animals looking over the wooden stall slats at the crowd around the Baby Jesus. This rustic and authentic event was written up in an article in Southern Living magazine. If you want to really experience what it was like for the Savior of the whole world to be born one day in a manger come out Wednesday, Dec. 22, from 6:30-8 p.m. and experience it for real. You just might encounter the Christ Child. I also believe strongly that one day it will be against the law to do such things if groups like the ACLU have their way. At they rate things are moving I could easily see the birth of Jesus as hate speech under the RICO laws. After all, doesnt it say that God hates sin? Sounds like hate speech to me! In their attempting to remove all vestiges of our Christian heritage from our fought-for history, they are attempting to eliminate all the definite references to Almighty God in the Constitution itself and the Declaration of Independence. Pastors and church members, listen up. I strongly believe that one day in the United States of America, you may be called on to go to jail for your faith. People like Martin Luther and Dietrich Bonhoffer did. Are you ready or will you rationalize it away? If youre not ready, get ready! I will close with an already politically incorrect statement: Merry Christmas! Dont ever be sucked in to saying Happy Holidays! These are not holidays; they are about the birth of Jesus of Nazareth and nothing else! Remember Him? The one that died for our many terrible sins? Dont get me started!! You wont have the time to hear the answers! Love, Pastor Knox, Dee, and HHCC! P.S. Dont for get to come out to the Live Nativity Dec. from 6:30 - 8 p.m. with believers and animals to greet you. Admission is free but it may cost you a lifetime. Again, Merry Christmas! P.P.S. In addition to our Live Nativity there will be a Salute To Our Troops Christmas with WWII Re-enactors, and Current Soldiers in Uniform in honor of the sacrifices they are making for us. The WWII C-47 D-Day Traveling Museum Gooney-Bird will also be there. Dont miss this one-day event.
