Council appoints two to Tourism AssociationThe Peachtree City Tourism Association will be getting two new members who were approved by the city council Thursday night. Robert B. King and Stanley C. Phillips will be taking the places of councilman Steve Rapson and city finance director Paul Salvatore. The association operates the citys amphitheater and tennis center. Since Rapson is the current chairman of the association, it assures the group will have a new chairman beginning the first of January. King, who has lived here since July, has 33 years experience in the hospitality industry and is currently on the board of AAA Auto Club South. He also has been on the board for the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau for 20 years and served as president of the Georgia Hospitality and Travel Association form 1980 to 1999. Phillips, who has lived here nine years, has 11 years of experience in the trade show and exposition industry. He has been account manager and production supervisor at GES Exposition Services and a passenger service agent at ASA Airlines. In his application for the position, Phillips noted he recently began playing tennis and was inspired by the activity and spirit at the tennis center. |
