Some real estate agents specialize in selling new homes, while other work primarily in resales. Still others specialize in a particular segment of the market, such as working with military families or corporate relocations.
Walton Gibbs, an agent with Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty’s Jonesboro/Clayton County office, serves all segments of the residential real estate market, but he has found his niche in working with the senior members of our community. Gibbs is not only a specialist in working with seniors, he has earned the real estate designation of SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist), the only designation and marketing program specifically designed to serve senior property owners.
In recent years, Gibbs has also served as a panelist for a number of free real estate seminars put together with the objective of identifying and clarifying significant issues and concerns facing the over 55 consumer.
“This is an ever growing segment of the real estate market,” he said.
“Around 10,000 people turn 50 every day, so issues concerning aging are real. Our community needs to be better informed on a variety of issues and concerns confronting the over 55 consumer.”
Gibbs also holds the RePRO (Real Estate Professional) designation, an indication of professionalism awarded by the Metro South Association of Realtors for educational achievement, and he is serving on the association’s education committee.
Holder of bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Georgia Southern University and with post graduate credit from Ohio State University, Gibbs has a background in college administration, student personnel services, retail management, commission sales and business ownership.
A licensed Realtor since 1989, he has been associated with Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty for more than 10 years. He is certified as a referral specialist with the Cendant Mobility Broker Network Certification Program. In other civic activities, he is a member of the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce and a member/supporter of Arts Clayton.
Gibbs and his wife Bobbie live in Southwest Atlanta. They have three married children and five grandchildren.
