The recently dissolved Eastside Library Board is threatening to sue the Coweta County Commission.
The County Commission received a letter Tuesday informing the board of the librarys threat, said County Administrator Theron Gay.
The board was dissolved in October after they expressed dissatisfaction with the commissions attitude toward the board.
I really just think its a difference in philosophy, Gay said.
The administrator said the county had always thought the board would serve more in an advisory capacity and help with programs at the new library.
But some members took exception to the size of the library, Gay said.
The board envisions smaller libraries throughout the county so people wont have to drive as far instead of building one massive library, he said.
The library board served at the will of the County Commission, and Gay said County Attorney Mitch Powell told the board it was in its purview to dissolve the board.
In other library news, Gay said the county approved the specs for he building. It will be 25,000 sq. ft. and construction should start in the spring, he added.
