College football season ends, players add to their totals

In college football last week, a number of graduates from Fayette County schools performed well.

• John Deraney (Fayette County) kicked five extra points and a 31 yard field goal in NC State’s 52-7 win over East Carolina.

• Kedric Golston (Sandy Creek) had one solo tackle and two assists in Georgia’s 19-13 win over Georgia Tech.

• Chris James (Starr’s Mill) kicked three extra points and a 25 yard field goal in Western Kentucky’s 54-24 playoff loss to Sam Houston State.

• Calvin Johnson (Sandy Creek) had five catches for 44 yards in Georgia Tech’s 19-13 loss to Georgia.

• Will Judson (Sandy Creek) had four kickoff returns for 86 yards in Florida A&M’s 40-23 loss to Florida International.

• Riley Swanson (Sandy Creek) had two solo tackles, three assists and a pass break up in Wake Forest’s 13-7 loss to Maryland.
