Tech’s Johnson makes the Freshman All-America team

Calvin Johnson, a true freshman from Tyrone is Georgia Tech’s leading receiver with 46 catches for 776 yards, both Tech freshman records.

The former Sandy Creek Patriot ranks second in the Atlantic Coast Conference in receiving yards per game (70.6), third in receptions per game (4.18) and second in touchdowns with six.

Nationally, Johnson ranks second among freshmen in receiving yards per game.

Johnson was named ACC Rookie of the Week twice this season and is considered by some pigskin prognosticators to be a shoo-in for ACC Rookie of the Year.
