Veterans event to inform about benefitsArea veterans will have a chance to learn all about their military benefits during the Supermarket of Veterans Benefits event Dec. 7 in Griffin. Representatives from federal, state and local agencies involved with providing benefits to veterans and their dependents will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the event. The event will be held at Georgia National Guard Armory, 1015 S. Hill St. near the Griffin-Spalding Airport. The Supermarket provides veterans and their dependents with the opportunity to gather information and get assistance in all areas relating to benefits at one time in one location, organizers said. Georgia Commissioner of Veterans Affairs Pete Wheeler, leaders of the states veterans organizations and auxiliaries, and representatives of participating agencies met with Griffin Mayor Cynthia Reid Ward in the City Courtroom, 231 E.
