McIntosh defeats Sandy Creek, splits with Starr’s Mill

McIntosh High School swimmers opened the 2004 season with a win over Sandy Creek High School Friday at the Kedron Aquatic Center, sparked by a school record in the men’s 200 Medley Relay. The record time of 1:47.96 was turned in by Thomas Lucak, Jeb Beard, Bryan Mitchell and Chris Lee.

The McIntosh boys won against Starr’s Mill Saturday while the girls lost, with Starr’s Mill taking the over-all meet victory at Adamsville Natatorium in Atlanta.

McIntosh state qualifiers Friday included Nicole Roddenberry, Lucak, Mitchell, Kyle Miller, Beard and Lee.

McIntosh boys winning events against Sandy Creek were: Miller, 200 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle: Mitchell, 200 Individual Medley, 100 Breaststroke: Lee, 50 Freestyle: Lucak, 100 Freestyle: Lucak, Mitchell, Miller, Lee, 400 Freestyle Relay.

McIntosh girls winning events in the Sandy Creek Meet were: Roddenberry, Keaton Hannon, Rose Tortora and Lindsey Lochridge, 200 Medley Relay; Bailey Abercrombie, 200 Individual Medley: Roddenberry, 50 Freestyle, 100 backstroke: Hannon, 200 Freestyle, 100 Fly: Tortora, 500 Freestyle: Lochridge, 100 Breaststroke: Courtney Hahn, Caroline Clark, Sarah Harmon and Leigh Ann Calkins, 400 Freestyle Relay.

McIntosh boys winning events Saturday against Starr’s Mill were: Lucak, Beard, Matt Manley and Lee, 200 Medley Relay: Miller, 200 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle: Beard, 200 Individual Medley: Lee, 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle: Lucak, 100 Butterfly, 100 Backstroke: Manley, 100 Breaststroke: Beard, Andy Rapson, Andrew Morton and Jordan Davis, 200 Freestyle Relay: Lucak, Manley, Miller and Lee, 400 Freestyle Relay.

McIntosh girls winning events Saturday were: Lochridge, 100 Butterfly: and Tortora, 500 Freestyle.

McIntosh is participating with its largest swim team this year, according to coach Tommy Stockdale.
