Update : Golf event raises over $65K for Tyrone man needing transplant

Tyrone resident Tommie Carroll, who recently underwent a double transplant for a kidney and pancreas, is doing well after the surgery. Though there have been a few challenging days and there are sure to be more in the future, he did feel well enough to attend the golf marathon for a short period of time. He was blown away by the support and love that people showed him.

The marathon, which featured 73 golfers, raised over $65,000. There was close to $25,000 that came in on the Friday of the tournament and another $40,000 came in afterwards.
