Registration set for Evening H.S.

Registration for the Fayette County Evening High School’s third mini-semester will be Jan. 4 from 4-6 p.m. at the LaFayette Education Center, Building D.

Tuition for day students who attend one of the county’s five traditional high schools is $210 per class, with a $50 per course book deposit and a $15 lab fee for science classes. Day school counselor approval is required for any course.

Day students may take one class each semester at the Evening High School and have credit transferred to their home school. Both the student and a parent must be present at the time of registration.

Students attending the Evening High School on a full-time basis must pay a $150 book deposit and any applicable lab fees. If registering as a full-time student for the first time, please contact the evening high school for an appointment, 770-460-3990, ext 231.

Out-of-county students may attend by paying $275 per course, a $50 book deposit per course and $15 lab fee.

Students may pre-register beginning Monday, Nov. 29. Registrations after Jan. 10 will not be accepted. Classes begin Jan. 6 and are held Mondays through Thursdays, with Fridays off.

The following classes will be offered:

1st Period 4:00 – 6:09 p.m.: 9 English A, 10 English A, 12 English A, Algebra 2A, Algebra 3A, Biology A, US History A, Spanish 2A and Computer Applications.

2nd Period 6:30 – 8:39 p.m.: 11 English A, Applied Problem Solving A, Applied Algebra A, Chemistry A, Economics, Spanish 1A, Child Care and Technology.

3rd Period 8:41 – 10:50 p.m.: 12 English A, Geometry B, Oceanography and World History A.

Accredited by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges, the Evening High School offers both college prep and technical/career diplomas. The school is designed for the student who wishes to pursue a diploma in a nontraditional format. There are no extra curricular programs or activities, allowing students to concentrate on completing requirement for graduation.
