Bringing fitness to women in Peachtree City, hope to soldiers abroad
Curves International, Inc., the world's largest fitness center franchise, has a new location in Peachtree City. "We have been open since the end of March, but still consider ourselves the new kids on the block," said Debbie Sanders owner.
Curves brings residents a supportive environment offering 30-minute fitness solution with a common sense weight loss program that helps break the weight loss cycle. "We want to help at home and also want be community minded. We can do this by making the lives of the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan a bit more comfortable," Sanders said.
For the last 4 weeks this location has been gathering items to ship off to some of the members sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, husbands and or wives.
"My son is in the thick of the fighting and the one thing that cheers his battalion up are packages from home," said Debbie Camp. Debbie's son is Army Sgt. Jarred Camp.
Various items such as sunscreen, Gold Bond powder, athletes foot powder, candy, gum, trail mix, cereal bars, canned nuts or chips, powered presweetened drinks, tuna by the can or pack, lip balm, eye drops, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shampoo, disposable razors, phone cards, disposable cameras, Beanie Baby toys (for the soldiers to give to children) are a few of the items being collected. Sanders went on to say, "We really need more items to send and help with packing and shipping would be great!"
