The Peachtree City Tourism Association, which manages the citys amphitheater and tennis center, is working on creating advisory committees for both venues.
The association hashed out some of the details at its meeting Wednesday night, but the matter will be studied more before a vote is taken.
Association member Murray Weed said he wanted to make sure it was clear the committees would be advisory in nature only. Committee members will not be allowed to vote on issues along with the associations board of directors, but they will be able to make suggestions to the board, Weed said.
The association will select members for each committee, but many of the details havent been ironed out yet.
Weed also said he wanted to clarify the appointment process and whether or not the board could remove any advisory committee member or whether that person would have to full out his or her full term regardless.
It was also announced Wednesday that seven current amphitheater and tennis center employees have been re-hired by the association, and decisions are still forthcoming on the other positions. So far, all seven of the positions were filled by the same people who held those jobs at the tennis center and amphitheater, officials said.
The association made all current employees re-apply for their positions after it officially took over management of the venues earlier this year.
Weed said he wanted to make it clear that the seven persons re-hired to date were selected because they were the most qualified for the positions.
The association also voted to pay 75 percent of the bill for its pay and classification study from the Mercer Group.
