Local woman hopes invention takes offBy MICHAEL BOYLAN You probably dont know who Karen Taylor is and you likely havent yet heard of her invention, which may be called either Great Frame-Up or Picture This, but she feels that day is coming soon. Taylor, a Fayetteville resident of nine years, has invented a product that will solve the problems of what to do with loose pictures. She couldnt go into too many details on the product yet, as a manufacturer has yet to pick it up, but Invent-Tech, the company she has gone through to get word of her invention out to manufacturers, seem to be excited. Taylor came up with the idea in March of this year after watching programs on HGTV and seeing the problems that designers had with all of the pictures in the homes. The key was to display them in a way that used space efficiently. Taylor, a collector of picture frames and an amateur photographer, came up with the idea and then sought out companies to help her get her invention out there. Invent-Tech was the one she went with and Taylor gave them rave reviews. Not only have they helped create a prototype they have also helped create a marketing plan. So far, the product has been shown at numerous expos around the country and will also be on display at a few expos around the world as well. Taylor had come up with several invention ideas in the past but soon found that similar ideas were already in the process of being manufactured. She also claims to have another invention idea in the works but will keep quiet about it until this current invention gets off the ground. Taylor, who has worked with computers for a number of years, lives in Fayetteville with her husband of 18 years, Don. She has a child, Stephen, from a previous marriage. |
