Fayette Community Hospital physicians could soon be moving their offices next door with the city Planning and Zoning Commissions approval.
The commission is expected to consider at 7 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall whether to approve development plans submitted for a 100,000 square-foot Meadows & Ohly Medical Office building.
This would be additional to the hospital and it will be for doctors associated with the hospital, P&Z Director Jahnee Prince said.
The property is located behind the Medical Arts Building that fronts on Ga. Highway 54 West and is adjacent to the hospital. The property, located at 1255 Ga. Highway 54 West, is part of the 50.55-acre hospital property and is zoned Medical Office (MO).
In an interoffice memo, P&Z staff withheld approval until nine issues were resolved. The memo requested a lighting plan, better pedestrian and bike connections and other items. Sidewalks, multi-use paths or bike paths and bike racks outside of every building are required in the district.
Prince indicated all of the items are issues of the past.
We worked it all out today, she said Thursday from her downtown office.
No one spoke against the proposed expansion during the commissions work session Tuesday night, Prince said. Traffic concerns regarding the often-confested Ga. Highway 54 West were not raised, officials said.
The commission also will consider:
A request to approve development plans for the Fayette Village South Retail Center, 525-545 S. Glynn St. The commercial developer wants to build two 12,300 square feet buildings for the center.
A special exception request to build Jet Blast Car Wash on Lemans Drive and Ga. Highway 54 West. The business would be located on an .87 acre lot.
Dr. Wendy Baileys request to rezone a structure at 170 Whitney St., from medium-density single family to office and institutional to convert the house to an office.
A request to approve elevation plans for Annas Linen in the Fayette Pavilion shopping center.
