Morality and the silent majority

America has just been through the most important election since 1776. More people voted in our sacred democracy then in any other time in history. More people voted for our president, George W. Bush, than any president in our history as a nation. Yet this man received more virile abuse and disrespect from everyone from the likes of Michael Moore to even Sen. Kerry himself. He suffered the abuse of being called stupid, naïve, out of touch, unable to grasp the big picture, out of touch with the U.N., and was even accused of waging war for oil and profit.

This last line (waging war for profit) has been the battle cry of the old Soviet and American Communist Party for many years. This worn out and untrue phrase was used as far back as World War II. It wasn't true then and is still not true now. These people and their time-worn phrases and their ideas will end up on the ash heap of history where they, in my opinion, all belong.

It is my prayer that the Democratic Party cones to its senses and dumps the liberal left and comes back to the sane center so they can be a viable party. America needs a two-party system.

I remember another trial that was held in a place called Jerusalem where charge after virile charge was leveled by mostly religious leaders at a carpenter's son from Nazareth by the name of Jesus. None of the charges leveled against him were true and it seemed as though the Christian movement would be dead by the execution of its leader. We know differently. Even the executioner's main method of cruelty and death became the strength and battle cry of Christians for over 2,000 years. The Cross now adorns the altars of our churches, our steeples, and is proudly worn on our bodies to remind us of what our Lord did as He died, not for our goodness, but for our sins!

I am in no way suggesting George W. Bush is Jesus, but I do remember him saying in his first election, when asked who was the most important and influencial person in his life, quickly responded with, "Jesus Christ." That statement was not politically correct, nor was it politically smart to do. Yet, see what happened this past week in the election. God is not mocked, ever!

The "America is always wrong" crowd and the dividers of the nation in the Democratic Party have, I hope, learned a terrible lesson. And while I'm on the subject, let them run Hillary over and over again because if that is all they have to offer, "bring it on."

It is being said on the nation's news media (who were gagging at having to report Bush's success at the ballot boxes,) that it was morality, the silent majority, moral and security moms, and the church that brought this election to the conclusion that is now history. I would have to add the Swift Boat Veterans to that group for having the courage to tell the truth on the anti-war movement involving "Hanoi Jane" and John Kerry. Again the Vietnam vets rose to the occasion. Thank you, vets, for another job well done. You continue to serve us well. You fought the fight and kept the faith. Well done, good and faithful servants.

I will have to confess, I was losing faith in America and it was for me a very sad day to watch America's sacred ideals trampled by people who were in my opinion fundamentally against every important ideal for which America stood. I will have to again say that George Bush kept the focus and never wavered or flip-flopped. God bless you, George, and God bless the American voter who stepped up to the plate and "did the right thing." And for you who are smarting over this election, we will take you back because that is what being a true American is all about.
