Bethany to serve famous Perlieu Stew this Saturday

Members of Bethany UMC will serve their famous Perlieu stew this Saturday, Nov. 6, from 4-7 p.m. The cost is $6 per plate for adults or $4 per plate for children. Pints of stew may be purchased for $5 each, or quarts for $8. Bethany cookbooks also will be on sale for $5 each or 3 for $10.

The recipe for the stew goes back well over 100 years when men in the community went out to hunt while the women stayed back at the church to make a stew out of whatever game the men returned with.
