Union City Mayor charged with DUIBy LINDSAY BIANCHI
Union Citys Mayor Ralph Moore is out of jail after receiving two citations earlier this month. According to Gary Stiles of the Fulton County Police Department Moore was involved in an accident Oct.15 at 9:50 p.m. The incident occurred on Old National Highway near Jerome Road. Stiles said Moore was charged with following too closely and given a breathalizer test after the other motorist and the arresting officer noticed an odor of liquor on Moores breath. Stiles said Moore had rear-ended a car in front of him. The mayor was taken to Fulton County Jail when his blood alcohol level was found to be .173, more than twice the maximum legal level of .08. He was also charged with DUI. Stiles said Moore posted bond and was released. Moore could not be reached for comment.
