Investigators still puzzled over bodyBy JOHN THOMPSON
The Coweta County Sheriffs Department has turned over the remains of a body found this week to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Sheriffs officials responded to a tip Monday about a body discovered just off interstate 85 near Newnan. The department, along with a crime scene specialist with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, processed the scene and sent the remains to the GBI crime lab for further investigation. On Tuesday, an autopsy was performed and investigators said the body is an African american, between 57 61 with several tattoos adorning his bodies. The tattoos read Laverne, United We Stand and 2 Gett We Ball or Unite Stand, and 2 Gett We Ball. Officials said the individual was wearing an XXL shirt with the logo AJKD and similar pants with a draw-string waist. Sheriffs deputies offered no comment on the cause of death. officials said they were working with numerous other agencies in the Southeast to determine the identity of the body. if you have any information on the case, contact the Sheriffs Office at 770-253-1502.
