Fayette, Landmark, McIntosh and Starr’s Mill make state volleyball tournaments

Starr’s Mill won the area 2-AAAAA championship over Fayette County last Thursday but both will be participating in the Class AAAAA tournament which starts Saturday. The Lady Panthers will open with a game against Dacula at North Gwinnett High School, while the Lady Tigers will take on Collins Hill at Cherokee High School. Both games are scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

McIntosh lost to Sandy Creek in the area 4-AAAA tournament last Thursday, 25-16, 25-22, but won on Saturday, 26-24, 10-25, 25-20, to advance to the area final against Woodward Academy. Woodward defeated the Chiefs in the final, 25-15, 25-22, 25-17. McIntosh will take on Marist at Marist High School Saturday at 10 a.m.

Landmark Christian won their area tournament and will open the A/AA tournament at Lovett High School against Greater Atlanta Christian at 10 a.m. Saturday.
