Still time to apply for Tourism Assn.Peachtree City is accepting applications for two seats on the Peachtree City Tourism Association through 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29. According to city spokesperson Betsy Tyler, the positions are open to a wider range of applicants than previously advertised. We advertised these positions in conjunction with several Commission and Authority seats, which have requirements about being a Peachtree City resident for at least six months, said Tyler. However, a closer inspection of city code and the Tourism Association bylaws indicate that these restrictions do not apply to PCTA members. Tyler said the city wanted to get the word out so potential applicants would know they might now be qualified. The city is seeking applicants who, preferably, have been employed in the restaurant or hotel/motel business or have a minimum of five years of finance experience. The positions are volunteer/non-paying. Applications are available at City Hall. For additional information, contact Gloria Reid at 770-487-7657.
