Tennis family works at Hipanic tennis festivalThe Louis Acuña family volunteered as translators for the Hispanic Tennis Festival which was held on Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Peachtree City Tennis Center. Peachtree City residents, Alicia and Louis Acuña with daughters Adriana and Gabriella, were recently named Georgias Tennis Family of the Year by USTA Georgia. The family will be recognized for their many contributions to tennis at an Annual Awards Presentation following the annual USTA Community Development Workshop, held in Atlanta. Current follow-up programs offer the Hispanic community tennis lessons at two local sites, Peachtree City Tennis Center and Summit Family YMCA, and are sponsored by USTA Southern, USTA Georgia, and Southern Crescent Tennis Association. At the festival, local Hispanic families were treated to free tennis clinics, games, food, tennis clothing, and tennis racquets. Tennis instruction was donated by local USPTA tennis pros from Peachtree City Tennis Center and Summit Family YMCA. Other Southern Crescent award winners that will be honored at the Annual Awards Presentation include Peachtree City Tennis Center for their 2004 Special Tennis Event of the Year award (Welcome Back to Tennis) and 2004 Junior Female Player of the Year, Link Leskosky. Leskosky is currently training at Peachtree City Tennis Center in the High Performance Academy program and has received a full scholarship to play tennis for the University of Georgia.
