October 30, is the day that dogs and their owners can take a
5K walk to benefit less fortunate animals. Doggie Dash is the
second annual event sponsored by the Georgia Heartland Humane
Society.
The event is at Shakerag Park in Peachtree City.
Registration for the 3.1 mile walk begins at 9 a.m. with the
walk beginning at 10 a.m.
Dogs that are at least three months old and on a leash may walk
with the owners. All dogs must have proof of rabies vaccinations
and be in good physical condition.
Donations are requested for this fund-raising event. Donors
contributing $35 will receive a Doggie Dash commemorative
tee shirt.
Walkers may raise money by collecting pledges from friends and
family.
Georgia Heartland Humane Society is a volunteer organization
whose mission is to save and improve the lives of homeless, abandoned,
and abused animals.
GHHS serves Coweta and Fayette counties and operates solely
from donations and fund-raising events. The funds are used to
care for the animals and to find loving homes.
