Fayetteville police seeking reaccreditationAssessment team to visit; public meeting Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. A team of assessors will visit Fayetteville Saturday, Nov. 6, to determine if the Fayetteville Police Department is complying with national accreditation standards. The assessment team will focus on a variety of topics involving Fayetteville police from policies, procedures and administrative operations to support services. The public will have a chance to speak to the assessment team about the department during a forum Monday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. at Fayetteville City Hall. Anyone who cant attend but wants to comment on the record can do so on Monday, Nov. 8 between 1-5 p.m. by calling 770-460-4248. All comments will be limited to 10 minutes and must address the agencys ability to comply with standards outlined by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. The reaccreditation process is an honor both for our department and the citizens we serve, said Fayetteville Police Chief Johnny Roberts. The accreditation process has guided our efforts to provide the citizens of Fayetteville with the highest quality of service, while maintaining a community policing perspective.
