Local students make good tournament showing

Martial Arts America - East/West Karate, whcih has three locations in Fayetteville, Peachtree City and Newnan, participated in an Inter-School karate tournament with students showing outstanding confidence and self-esteem. The school has been in business since 1987 and has a student base of over 900 students.

“We have had several teachers mention to us that they can always tell who our students are because of their mental traits of discipline, courtesy, respect and confidence,” said Mark Dumas, who owns and operates these locations. “Compliments like this is what it is all about. We are not only making champions in karate, we are making champions in life.”

The winners below are just a portion of the students that participated in this tournament.

• First place: Zachrey Shirk, Blake Walters, Dahlton Cash, Tyler Nigro, Brian Pierce, Drew Van de Motter, Whitney Camp, Zach Ledbetter, Destini Maynard, Lauren Worley, Daniel Dehan, Luke Burnside, Tirell Burston, Nicholas Branon, Matthew Flinn, Torri Ollis, Sebastian Durovic, Cedric Blake, Maria Cox, Mike O’Brien, Edward Ulsaker, Jason Blake, Juan Garcia, Roxanne Seaman, Ryan Sas and Parker Bachman.

• Second place: Allen Brackett, Matthew Goodwin, Trace Bell, Ryan O’Hara, Jacob Flanigan, Nolan Culhane, Sam Worley, Matthew Seaman, Tirell Burston, Jakob Robinson, Nolan Knight, Zach Kube, Alex Cozallo, Ethan Caldwell, Drew Massey, Torri Ollis, Owain Jones, Michael Moore, Anika Noorali, Blake Bettis, Elliot Compton, Maria Cox, Ronnie Holland, Camille Thompson, Alex Horgan, Parker Bachman and Chas Van de Motter.
