Spend a relaxing evening this Saturday night at The Fred listening
to great songs like Stardust, Thats All, Someone
to Watch Over Me, and many more familiar favorites interpreted
by Steve Tyrell, a name that is becoming synonymous with smooth
jazz vocals.
In 1999, Steve Tyrell released his Atlantic Records debut CD, A
New Standard after years behind the music scene as a songwriter
and producer. He was asked to record a new version of The
Way You Look Tonight for the 1991 film Father of
the Bride. It was the success of that song which led to
an eventual recording career in front of the microphone.
His new set of old favorites, This Guys In Love, is
another fine addition to his growing catalog of romantic, jazz-flavored
tunes. In the tradition of Tony Bennett with a little touch of
Dr. John, Steve Tyrell has taken a similar path forged by Harry
Connick, Jr.
In addition, Tyrell has joined with Pennsylvania House for a
line of home furnishings that have the same amount of style as
his music. Tyrell spent this last summer in London producing
Rod Stewarts latest album which is scheduled for release
in October.
Tyrell also recorded an album of Christmas songs that incorporates
all the elements he used to create his standards albums and given
the holidays one more good reason for the season. Tickets for
Saturdays show are available online at www.amphitheater.org or
phone 770-631-0630 for more information. This is the last concert
for this years jazz series and is sure to please. You can
