Residents started streaming through the gates this week for
the 54th annual Fayette County Kiwanis Fair. This years
fair runs through October 2. The fair will be held at the Kiwanis
Fair Complex located on Goza Road in Fayetteville. The fair is
open from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. through Thursday and will stay open
until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Admission free for four and under, $2 for students 5-11, 12-64
year old residents pay $5,while seniors play $2.
If youre a lover of rides, the fair offers armbands to
ride as many rides as you can. Through Thursday, the armbands
are $15, while on Friday and Saturday, the price is $18.
Once again, the Kiwanis Club is concentrating on the Fayette
County community. They have planned a fair that caters to everyone
in this community and all surrounding areas.
Not only will this years fair have the traditional themes
such as Student Night and the Chili Cook-Off, but also they are
excited about hosting four nights of solid entertainment. This
years performers include Jubals Kin, Vaguely
Vegas, Timeless Highway, and Thunder
Thieves.
The Kiwanis Club of Fayette County was founded on September
21, 1951. Over fifty years ago, members began the tradition of
contributing funds raised during special events such as the fair
to charitable organizations. Geneva Weaver, Kiwanis Club President
says, These contributions confirm the Kiwanis Clubs
dedication to help shape the future Fayette County community.
