New Wednesday Bible study offered at Christ’s Church

Christ’s Church at Whitewater invites the community to the second series of its Wednesday night Adult Bible study, “The Well.” Dr. Barry Blackburn will teach a New Testament study entitled, “Marked by the Gospel: Studies in the Gospel of Mark.” The series begins next Wednesday, Oct. 6, and will conclude on Wednesday, Nov. 17.

Blackburn is a professor of New Testament at Atlanta Christian College, where he has taught for the last 19 years. He has a B.A. degree from Harding University and a Ph.D. in New Testament from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. He and his wife, Kathy, are members of the Southern Crescent Church of Christ in Tyrone.

A family meal, catered by different local restaurants, is served each Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for ages kindergarten through fifth grade. Children 4 years and under are free. Reservations are required. Contact the church office, 770-461-1487, to make a dinner reservation.
