Family Night kicks off Kedron reading programKedron Elementary School kicked off its accelerated reading (AR) program this year with a family reading night. The evening was filled with readings by parents and teachers as well as characters from some well-known books. Amelia Badelia, a character from a popular childrens book series of the same name, was brought to life by enrichment teacher Amy Beaucham. Kevin Coffey, a parent of a first-grader at Kedron, recited two poems from Shel Silversteins Where the Sidewalk Ends, Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would Not Take the Garbage Out and Boa Constrictor. In honor of the 2004 Summer Olympic Games, Kedron has selected an Olympic theme for this years accelerated reading program: Be an Olympic Reader and Go for the Gold.
