Stephens joins Atlanta law firm that specializes in intellectual propertyNeedle & Rosenberg, an Atlanta-based law firm focusing on intellectual property law, has announced that Peachtree Citys Dawn V. Stephens has joined the firm as associates. Both will practice in the firms electronics/software patent group, which prosecutes patent applications in all areas of software, Internet and electronics communication technology for a wide range of corporate, university and government clients.. Stephens graduated magna cum laude with a bachelors of science degree in physics from Clark Atlanta University. Upon graduation, she attended Rice University as an NSF Research Fellow and an AT&T Corporate Research Fellow and went on to graduate cum laude with a masters degree in electrical engineering. Since graduate school, Stephens has spent the past eight years working in the legal profession, first serving as a technical advisor for Arnold, White & Durkee and as a patent law clerk for Williams, Morgan & Amerson, both of Houston. She later returned to her Georgia roots, in the positions of a summer associate for Long, Aldridge & Norman and as a patent agent for both Morris, Manning & Martin and Gardner, Groff & Mehrman. Since then Stephens has been a patent agent at Needle & Rosenberg while completing her juris doctor at the University of Georgia School of Law. She is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent Office. Stephens lives in Peachtree City, Ga.
