Bad Links? | Expo is highlight of race weekendOne of the best things about the annual Peachtree City Classic Race is the Expo that takes place on that weekend. Expo Director Dick Allis says its not only for runners who take part in one of the three races that Saturday morning (the Mens 5K, the Womens 5K, or the Open 15K), but is open to the general public as well. It is one of the largest sports Expos on the south side of Atlanta. There will be a myriad of vendors, organizations, and companies displaying their wares and services. Smith and Davis is always a favorite and will have their running gear and other sporting goods on sale. One of the larger running equipment vendors is Sports and More. Donnie Chambers, owner of the company, makes the trek from Alabama every year because the Classic Expo is such a good venue. Local favorites like World Gym and the Fayette Community Hospital will also have representatives on hand to discuss and disseminate health related information. Dr. Thomas and his staff from Allied Health will be available for free massages and information on toxic cleansing. Velocity, Inc., a sports management and coaching company, will have a booth as will Polar Heart monitors. Juice Plus will have information on nutritional supplements and free samples of their health drinks. Professional chiropractic advice will also be available. A new vendor this year will be Sam Holoviak, a representative of Pharmanex, with a Bio-Photonic Laser Scanner. Patrons will be able to get a readout of their carotenoid level with a simple hand scan for a nominal fee. The McIntosh Wrestling Team will be selling 2005 Chick-Fil-A Calendars full of discount coupons to raise money for their program. Mahaffey Orthodontics will have their staff on hand offering a complimentary initial examination. Publix will have a table with free samples and discount coupons. These are just a few of the many vendors that will be on hand. In short, there will be something for everyone. The Expo is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 15, from 5-9 p.m. at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center and Saturday, Oct. 16, from 7-11 a.m. at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater. If your company or organization is interested in taking part in this annual event, contact Dick Allis at 770-487-9956 or ptcexpo@juno.com. Space is limited. The event is open to the public. |
