Several fall programs offered

•ACTING CRAZE - HAUNTED HOUSE

Join the fun as we build theater skills in the Acting Craze class offered by the Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department. Join us as we build theater skills such as projection, costume & prop design, and pronunciation in this exciting class. Participants will develop characters for a final "Haunted House" performance for family and friends. The class will meet Thursday's September 30 - October 28 from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. The cost is $40 per person and is open to children and teens, ages 8 & older. Pre-registration is required. •HANDS-ON ART

The Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Hands-on Art class September 25. Come join the fun of arts and crafts projects such as painting, collages, and much more. The class will held at the Kiwanis Center on Redwine Road from 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. The class is open to youth ages 6-11, and the cost is $15 per person. Pre-registration is required. •PAPERMAKING

Learn how to make your own paper using a variety of materials including cotton pulp, plant fibers, recycled office paper, and even dryer lint. Participants will make a wide variety of paper including scented (mint, rosemary), dried flower, colored and embossed. The class, sponsored by the Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department, is open to youth ages 10 & older. The cost is $30 per person. Pre-registration is required. Information: 770-461-9714

•BUTTONS & HEMS

No more using safety pins, staples or scotch tape! Learn how to sew on a button and repair a hem. Simple needle and thread repairs will be taught. Bring an item to hem as practice. The class, sponsored by the Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department, is open to youth ages 10 & older The cost is $30 per person. Pre-registration is required. Information: 770-461-9714

•HOME SCHOOL ART CLASSES

The Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department is now offering the following Home School Art Classes: Beginning Drawing & Painting and Advanced Drawing & Painting. Classes start Tuesday, October 5. The course fee is $30 per session for Drawing I and Drawing and Painting I and $45 per session for Drawing and Painting II. Pre-registration is required. •RECREATIONAL TREE CLIMBING

The Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department sponsors Recreational Tree Climbing from 2 to 5 p.m. October 10 (second Sunday of every month). Learn to climb trees the safe way through the use of harnesses, and other gear. Participants can climb for fun, tree surf, or climb for a good challenge. Climbs are for people age 7 and older and cost $12. Those interested may register at Lake Horton on the date of the class.
