Marine Hospital Corpsman Second Class Steven M. Donohoe,24, of Fayetteville has returned home from Iraq. Donohoe is currently stationed with the Second Marine Expeditionary Force in Camp Lejeune, NC and was deployed to Iraq for a second tour on February 23rd, 2004. He was assigned as detachment commander for Combat Support Center Carolina Crossroads Troop Medical Center and received Navy Commendation Medal for meritorious actions.
Donohoe treated over 1,000 National Guard Soldiers from Ohio, and North Carolina. and provided medical support for local Iraqi civillians.
He returned September 18th to Camp Lejeune.
During ground campaign of Operation Iraqi Freedom , he was assigned as triage officer for Shock Trauma Platoon 7. He treated over 300 combat casualties both Iraqi and coalition forces. Donohoes wife, Sarah, and son Martin live in Peachtree City.
