Bad Links? | More solid performances for Fayette players in collegeBy MICHAEL BOYLAN It wasnt as big a week for local football players on collegiate teams as last week, but there were still some noteworthy performances. Last weeks hero for Georgia Tech, Calvin Johnson (Sandy Creek) added two catches for 45 yards in Techs loss to UNC. Reuben Houston (Starrs Mill) had four tackles and an assist. Other players who had got on the statistics sheets for their collegiate teams were: John Deraney (Fayette County) kicked two extra points and kicked six punts for 253 yards in NC States loss to Ohio State. Jason Earwood (Starrs Mill) had two tackles and an assist in Georgia Southerns win over Wofford. Johnny Edwards (Starrs Mill) had three tackles and an assist in Wake Forests win over North Carolina A&T. Kedric Golston (Sandy Creek) had an assisted tackle in Georigas win over Marshall. He left the game with a hip bruise but is expected to return for the LSU game on Oct. 2. Jermaine Harris (Sandy Creek) had three solo tackles and one assist. He also broke up a pass in South Carolinas win over South Florida. Will Judson (Sandy Creek) had one punt return for six yards and four kick returns for 71 yards for Florida A&M in their loss to Temple. Riley Swanson (Sandy Creek) had two tackles, an assist and a broken up pass for Wake Forest in their win over North Carolina A&T. |
