Bad Links? | WASA OKs 2005 budgetTurner: No problems from Frances By MICHAEL BOYLAN The Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority had a full agenda Monday night. In addition to looking at the budget for fiscal year 2005 and the capital improvements budget, the authority also accepted a bid for the rehabilitation of the Rockaway and Line Creek buildings. The authority approved an operating budget of $5,631,478 and then approved a capital improvements project budget of $3,810,000. Some of the larger items on the capital improvement budgets were Infiltration and Inflow rehab and Flow Monitors and monitoring, both priced at an estimated one million dollars, the rehabilitation of the Rockaway and Line Creek buildings, which the authority approved for a bid of $399,061 from BTL Contracting Inc. and QT Contracting Inc., as well as $150,000 for improvements on Aviation Way and $160,000 for Tinsley Mill Sewer Rehabilitation, amog other items. Each one of the items on the capital improvement budgets would need an approved contract and the blessing of the authority before the money could be spent. General manager Larry Turner also let the authority know that the plants and pump stations around town stayed operational during the remnants of Hurricane Frances even though the power went out intermittently, thanks to generators that were purchased in the past. They worked as advertised, said Turner, who added that the city never came close to any overflows. The Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority will meet Monday, Oct. 4, at 6:30 p.m. |
