Bad Links? | City dedicates new public works buildingBy JOHN THOMPSON A new chapter in Senoias history was started Wednesday, but it also contained a bittersweet note from the past. City leaders gathered Wednesday morning just off Howard Road to dedicate the citys new public works building. City officials have planned for years to build a new structure, and were happy to show off their new facility. But the event was filled with mixed emotions as the building was dedicated to firmer public works director Bobby Hogan, who died of an aneurysm last January at 43. Hogan could always be seen around town working on different projects, whether it was stringing the citys Christmas lights, or helping coordinate the placement of the citys new sewer lines. He also had completed classes to be the towns arborist and worked with the citys tree committee to make sure Senoia preserved some of its older trees. In addition to his work at City Hall, Hogan was a large figure in the citys Little League program and worked with hundreds of kids in that capacity. During Wednesdays ceremony, Hogans wife, Debby, who serves as the citys clerk, thanked the city for the honor. |
