Does your child enjoy digging in the dirt, playing with worms, eating insects and picking the neighbors flowers? If so, they sound like a candidate for an exciting program offered by the Fayette County Extension Service, the Junior Master Gardener Program.
This program is open to current third, fourth, and fifth graders and will meet the first and third Thursday of each month. Classes will begin October 7 from 4-6 p.m. at the Fayette County Extension Service, Suite 209, 140 Stonewall Avenue, Fayetteville.
Our staff members, assisted by trained volunteers, will introduce your child to plant growth and development, soils and water, ecology, insects and diseases, and more.
Come join in the fun with interesting activities such as The Hamburger Plant, Coconut Float and Gas Gobblers just to name a few.
For more information or to obtain an application, stop by the Fayette County Extension Service, at the Administrative Complex or call 770-460-5730 ext. 5412. Space is limited and registration will end September 16, 2004. Apply early!
