WCR hosts charity golf tournament

The Women’s Council of Realtors will host a golf tournament Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Planterra Ridge golf course in Peachtree City. The event is a fund raiser to help support the Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence. Sign-in begins at 11 a.m. with the tourney starting at 12:30 p.m.

An entry fee of $75 per person includes a golfer gift bag, range balls from 11 a.m.-noon, lunch, beverages, shotgun format golf, and an after-golf social with raffle drawings and prizes.

“Planterra Ridge is a premier golf course,” said WCR Golf Committee Chairman Sue Monson. “We are proud to host this tournament at such a fine facility.”

Individuals and companies are invited to sponsor golf holes at $100 each, and WCR will provide identifying signs for sponsors. Donations for golfer gift bags, raffle drawings and prizes also are being accepted.

The Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence, which will adopt the new name Promise Place on Sept. 21, is a nonprofit organization supported by local citizens to aid persons, mostly women and children, who are victims of harmful relationships. In addition, the Council educates Fayette teens on dating violence.
