Bad Links? | New Civitan club formsThe Line Creek Civitan Club of Peachtree City celebrated the initiation of charter members and installation of officers with a banquet at the Wyndham Hotel on Aug. 19. The room was filled with new members and their families, as well as well-wishers and many members of Civitan, some coming from as far away as Florida and Alabama. Charter members spoke of their excitement in addressing those in need in their own community. Civitan is an international service-based organization with an emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities. While Fayetteville has maintained an active Civitan club for many years, the Line Creek club formed to serve the residents of Peachtree City, Tyrone, Sharpsburg, and surrounding areas. The Line Creek club looks forward to strengthening the community by addressing the needs of its own citizens. It is not too late to get involved. If you are interested in learning more about Civitan, attend a dinner meeting on the first or third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Peachtree City.
