Are you a prostitute?
By Dr Knox Herndon It has been said that every man or woman has their price. Do you believe that? In other words, if someone waves enough money in your face will you do anything? As I understand prostitution, you pay someone and you are able to do to them what ever you wish, no matter how perverted it may be. These are strong words and they may end up not being printed but I hope they are because what I see happening on the national level is paramount to prostitution in my opinion. During the Clinton years people will quote how prosperous they were. They had plenty of money and the economy was booming. Then the truth finally comes out about the never-ending embarrassing Clinton lifelong "cat house" that he is running in the White House. Then people lined up to buy his book and find out the puzzling question of "it depends on what is is." If this weren't so serious, it would be comical and we all would get a good laugh, but it is seriously tragic, to say the least. I very much want to take care of my family and I certainly realize as a pastor of a small church that every one of us needs to work, be paid, and take care of our families. I also enjoy a family vacation and like my toys like the next man, but not at the expense of my country. Call me old-fashioned, but the office of the President of the United States is a sacred trust between government and the American people and over 40 percent of Americans are treating that sacred trust as a prostitute. In other words, if the economy is good, then you can buy me and my vote. If however, there are serious character issues at stake, count me out, because you see I am a prostitute, and a prostitute has to make a living. I hope after over 2,000 years of history we have learned something. One thing all of history shouts is that if you lose your country, you lose it all. We should have also learned that this is the only country we have and we must take very good care of her and she is not for sale. Every American has the total right to their vote this November, but I would add a caveat that every American has a serious obligation to seriously get off the couch and get into the issues full swing. This election will shape America forever. It is no longer just a Democrat or a Republican issue. There are serious issues at stake here. There are major philosophical clashing differences and if you are not informed, you will become a used prostitute and castaway. I have been writing articles for over six years and I know you probably know where I stand in this election but I just want to remind you of a few facts. John Kerry is a confused man who equates patriotism with his association with the likes of Hanoi Jane, Ted Kennedy, Michael Moore, and on and on. I will support his right to feel that way with my 30 years of military service, but he was wrong in what he did while our men were rotting in the Hanoi Hilton while he and his delegation were giving aid and comfort to the enemy; it is, in my opinion, treason of the worst order. This he will carry to his grave whether he is elected or not. It was not President Bush that ever even mentioned the Vietnam war, it was Kerry. So let us bring it on, as he loves to say. And while I'm on the subject, I love the way that he has two completely different sets of rules, one for himself and one for the Republicans. He wants to squelch the Swift Boat Veterans (who also served their full tours, I might add) but doesn't say a word about the half-truths and propaganda lies that Michael Moore spouted. Once again, the double standard; one for us and one for you! God's Word says a "double minded man is unstable in all his ways." I want to be perfectly clear here about Kerry's war record. I am not questioning his going to Vietnam for four months and even his medals, but it was what he did when he came home while our and your American soldiers were in the fire fights of their lives that made him a comfort to the enemy. It was said of POWs that the worst torture they endured in captivity was the news that Kerry and others were in Paris on the side of the North Vietnamese. As a Christian I am to forgive our enemies but rest assured that sins of that depth have grave consequences for generations to come. Our new church is 75 percent finished. Come see.
