Local teams enjoying state rankingsBased on teams performances, the state rankings in high school sports are always changing. That being said, Starrs Mill has to be very happy with the way things currently stand. In AAAAA, their volleyball team (15-3) is ranked number one, their boys cross country team is ranked fifth and their football (3-0) and softball (5-6) teams are ranked 10th. McIntosh has two state ranked teams in AAAA. Their volleyball team (7-3) is ranked fourth and their girls cross country team is ranked seventh. Sandy Creeks volleyball team (11-5) is ranked fifth in AAAA and their football team is likely one win away from cracking the top 10 themselves. In Class A, Landmarks boys cross country team is ranked number one, while their volleyball team (5-5) is ranked sixth and their girls cross country team is ranked ninth. Our Lady of Mercys boys and girls cross country teams are both ranked third. Look to future issues of The Citizen for further ranking updates.
