Turner Quick reunion set for Sept. 25By CAROLYN CARY
The sixth annual Eli and Drucilla Turner Quick reunion is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25. Everyone is advised to bring a covered dishÊand copies of family genealogy. Prizes will be given for the oldest descendant, the youngest, the one who came the farthest, and the one with the most family members present. The Family Life Center at New Salem Baptist Church, 113 New Salem Road in the Griffin-Vaughn area, will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tony Parrott, past president of the Fayette County Historical Society, will be speaking at 11 a.m. At 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Sue Horn will speak on new research she has found and the connections of the Quick-Turner family to the local Indians.
