Palmetto Package store undergoing a change

Palmetto Package Store and Palmetto One Stop at 510 Center Street will be changing ownership. The sale of the liquor and convenience store was passed Tuesday evening at Palmetto’s monthly city council meeting.

Owners Jung Wun Kwun, Won Gook Cho, and Yoon Joo Cho sold their two businesses to new owner, Yin Ha Yoon. The Council voted to approve the changeover 6 to 1, with Councilman James Harper voting against the motion.

In addition, an updated bond and fine sheet was reviewed by the board and approved unanimously. The new figures have not been released, but there will be some increases.

A plan for emergency water service in Palmetto was also discussed. Coweta County is being approached to help the city during low water level periods. The City Council is still waiting approval of the request.
